I am very happy to be able to play a part in the branding of this wonderful cake shop in Long Beach, California. The woman behind all those delicious-looking goodies, Ariane, got in touch with me through Etsy. She wanted a feminine-looking stacked logo for Spilled Milk Cakery and wanted to have her logo ready in time for her shop’s launch in September – which also marks her daughter’s birthday.
We talked about swirls and simplicity, which somehow mirrors her very own personality! We finally came up with a logo with two variations – one with a cake stand and another one without, which you can see on her site. The cake stand version is both our favorite, and will be used for her other marketing collateral.
Personally, the best part in writing a logo is seeing it come together with all the other creative elements. I love how it blends with the overall branding of a certain business or product. And I am in awe at how pretty the Spilled Milk Cakery website turned out to be! Ariane’s creations make me wish we’re neighbors so I can offer my exceptional taste-testing skills. But knowing my tremendous love for all things sweet, I’d probably give her the go-ahead. Every. Single. Time.
